We went to this year's '16th Annual XBA Kite Expo' to mark our presence on the west coast. Thanks to our ambassador Jen Mar from LA, many of the current kiteboarding fans had the opportunity to try nobile equipment. See how it went.

Event: 16th Annual XBA Kite Expo
Location: Pismo/Grover Beach, California
When: April 13-15, 2018

Day 1 (Friday, April 13th)
It was a sunny day, but the wind was offshore until midday and was very light.  It was really a 17m type day.  Most of the day, participants asked questions about the latest Nobile gear (the latest 4th generation W split board technology, the foil board construction, different size masts, wings, the differences in the types of boards, the difference in the kites, etc).  At the end of the day, a couple of people tried out the 14m T5 kite and the 140 T5 board.  The one who was able to kite in the light wind in the waves liked the T5 kite and liked the board but due to the light wind, didn't get to really feel how the kite handles in a bit stronger wind but still thought it was performing well in the light conditions.

Day 2 (Saturday, April 14th)
The second day was another light wind day and we had a heat bubble.  Participants were hoping to try out the foils, but since Pismo was more shallow and participants would have to go past the waves (and the wind was just too light), participants could not demo the foils due to the mast. More participants came by to ask about the Nobile gear, especially the clickngo, split board concept, pads, sizes of the boards, etc.

Day 3 (Sunday, April 15th)
The third day seemed to be another light day and luckily around 3pm the wind cranked and so participants used the kites ranging from the 9m to 14m and the various boards.  This was also the raffle for the Nobile 140 T5 board you guys graciously donated that was won by a girl participant who seemed very excited to win the Nobile board.

In summary: Those who flew the kites were impressed how well it handles in the gusty winds and had light bar pressure and liked flying the kite in the waves. One participant mentioned how easy it was to relaunch the kite.  As for the boards, one person already owned the split surfboard and loved it and was hoping to try the foil board. I mentioned they would have the opportunity to in Belmont May 5-6.  A lot of others wanted to test out and demo the surf split board to see how it rides. Those who tried the split board were impressed on how well it rides, cuts through the chop and goes up wind well.  A few people were very interested in the Gen 2 Nobile pads and wonder how well they would handle and last long term. They seem to like the padding of the Gen 2 pads.

See you in Belmont #california
